FILM COLLECTION

The Daily Vignettes is a collection of several short documentary films, each focused on a particular theme. The films were created without any prior preparation or plot; the only artistic manipulation has been done through the narration and editing processes. The name of the collection implies that each short film offers a glimpse of daily life from a different perspective.

Daily Vignettes N°1, the first documentary in this collection, was filmed on the Berkeley campus. It highlights the stark contrast between the hectic lives of college students and the tender, in-the-moment intimacy of an old couple walking towards Sather Gate.
Daily Vignettes N°2 focuses on the theme of identity and self-knowledge despite the rapid passing of our time.
Daily Vignettes N°3 explores the fleeting nature of life and the inevitable fate that befalls us all.
San Francisco Daily, a spontaneous experimentation with 16mm film, captures the liveliness of San Francisco in November 2020, right before the city is plagued by the COVID-19 pandemic.
An amalgamation of personal narratives and archival media, Constructing A Human Life explores the stories of three individuals as they recount what is most important to them.
The Emerald Within is an abstract short film concerning the value of individuality and battling against mob mentality.
Canvas is an experimental short film that brings to focus the materiality of visual elements. The film tells the story of a young girl, who, with her creativity and passion for painting, blurs the line between imagination and reality.
Confusing her imagination with reality, a girl blames an imaginary person for all her problems, not realizing that she is the only one responsible for her own life.
